“GaN films were grown on Si(111) substrates under various beam equivalent pressure (BEP) ratios by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy. NVP-BSK805 The optical properties for the grown samples were studied over a wide spectral range from 200 to 3300 nm using the reflectance spectrum only. It was found that increasing the N/Ga BEP ratio from 17.9 to 46.1 increases the refractive index (n) from 2.05 to 2.38 at wavelength 630 nm (for example), while the optical energy gap (E(g)) were found to be in the range between 3.325 to 3.35 eV with no specific trend. The structural properties for the grown films were studied through two types

of rocking curve measurements; normal rocking curve (omega-scan) and triple axis rocking curve (omega/2 theta-scan). It was found that with decreasing the N/Ga ratio from 46.1 to 17.9 the full width at half maximum decreases from 0.62 degrees to 0.58 degrees for omega-scan and from 0.022 degrees to 0.021 degrees for omega/2 theta-scan. “Purpose: To prospectively determine whether cardiac-gated multidetector computed tomography (CT) allows visualization of aortic valve leaflets after bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement

(AVR), to provide an accurate method for measuring the aortic valve opening, and to provide morphologic and functional information regarding the mechanism underlying poor function of the bioprosthetic valve.

Materials and Methods: The institutional review board approved the study protocol; informed consent was given. Fifty-four patients (27 men; mean age, SB431542 mw 75 years 6 8 [standard deviation]) with bioprosthetic AVR implanted 2 years 6 3 earlier underwent 64-section CT and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE). Two blinded observers manually planimetered the aortic valve area (AVA) by using a computer workstation on end-systolic short-axis CT images and measured opening angles (OAs) between the bioprosthesis annulus base and the free margin on long-axis images. These measurements were compared with those of the effective orifice area (EOA) of the valve at Doppler continuity-equation TTE by using regression and Bland-Altman methods.
